CounterTrak Setup Guide

Follow these simple steps to start tracking your CS2 performance

Step 1: Create an Account

If you haven't already, start by creating a CounterTrak account:

  1. Click the Register link in the navigation bar
  2. Fill out the registration form with your details
  3. Log in with your new credentials

Step 2: Link Your Steam Account

Link your Steam account to CounterTrak:

  1. Go to your Profile page
  2. Click the Link Steam Account button
  3. Enter your Steam ID and in-game name
Tip: You can find your Steam ID by visiting your profile in the Steam client and looking at the URL. It will look something like 76561198012345678.

Step 3: Generate and Install Your Config File

Generate a custom GSI config file for your CS2 installation:

  1. Go to your Profile page
  2. Next to your linked Steam account, click the Get Config button
  3. Save the downloaded file to:
    [CS2 Installation Folder]/game/csgo/cfg/gamestate_integration_countertrak.cfg
  4. Launch CS2 and play a match!
Important: The default CS2 installation folder is typically:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\

Step 4: Start Playing and Check Your Stats

Once you've completed the setup:

  1. Play some CS2 matches with the config file installed
  2. Return to CounterTrak to see your performance stats
  3. Visit your dashboard to see match history and performance metrics
  4. Check out the advanced weapon analysis for detailed insights
That's it! CounterTrak will automatically collect your game data whenever you play CS2. The more you play, the more data we can analyze to help improve your game.
How CounterTrak Works

CounterTrak uses Valve's Game State Integration (GSI) system to collect data from your CS2 client:

  • The GSI config file tells CS2 to send game data to our servers
  • Our system processes this data in real-time
  • Data is stored in our database for analysis
  • Our analytics engine identifies patterns in your gameplay

CounterTrak is lightweight and has no impact on your game performance. It collects data in the background while you play.

Troubleshooting
No data appears after playing
  • Verify the config file is in the correct location
  • Make sure the file name is exactly gamestate_integration_countertrak.cfg
  • Check that your Steam ID is correctly entered
  • Restart CS2 after installing the config file
Connection issues
  • Ensure your firewall isn't blocking the connection
  • Check that you're connected to the internet while playing
  • Verify that the auth token in your config file matches your account
